"I have used Helmandollar Remodeling and Contracting for 3 projects during the last two years. The first was replacing a soaker tub and shower with a large walk in tiled shower with glass side. It is convenient and easy to clean. It looks great!
The second project was a major remodel of a detached second car garage. The end result was a casita with a bedroom and bathroom. The project required adding plumbing and electrical, I actually use the bedroom as an exercise room.... multi-use.

The third project is in process. It is upper and lower cabinets for my dining room. The cabinets continue on from my kitchen and look great! The kitchen is small and has relatively few cabinets. I will also gain more countertop space with granite placed on my new lower cabinets that compliments the existing granite kitchen countertop.

It is a pleasure working with Shad Helmandollar and his wife Gabrielle. The work projects are well planned and thought out with continual customer interaction as they progress. Shads workmanship is excellent. Every time he leaves for the day everything is cleaned up. He is organized, reliable, timely, and trustworthy. He is a very dedicated and a hard worker. He is multi talented in a wide variety of projects.

Gabrielle is great at communicating via email appointment times, material selections, contract progression, and all relevant documents needed. She is very polite, efficient, organized and an asset to Shad.

I finally decided it was time to get my master bathroom remodeled. I have always wanted to have a walk-in shower but yikes the cost of that made me put it off for the past 15 years. Recently, my neighbors had their whole kitchen remodeled by HRC and had nothing but great things to say about Shad, Gabrielle, and the company. So I got their contact information and reached out to Gabrielle. I am so happy I did. They started off with replacing our kitchen counter tops, sink, back splash, and faucet. Shad did such an amazing job!….so well that I had them give me a quote for my bathroom, my dream bathroom! Fearing what it would cost I held my breath and not only was the quote within my budget but I was able to have everything done that I had always wanted. Gabrielle was on top of everything! She had all of the quote laid out so that it was easy to follow and I knew what to expect and when things would be delivered. If I had questions regarding the job of any sort, all I had to do was send her a text and her response time was super quick. Not only was she very professional but sweet and kind too. Shad is a punctual and friendly guy. He was so patient with answering any questions we had along the way and always gave us options of doing things a bit differently if we wanted. He was upfront with everything and never once were we surprised. He was always easy to talk to and didn’t mind me poking my nose in from time to time to check on the progress. His work is impeccable and I can tell he takes pride in his work. Shad did most of the remodel by himself but their were days that his two sons came to help and what pleasant young men they are. They know what hard work is and not only were they professional as well but we all had some great conversations too. My husband and I cannot say enough about these wonderful people. They are fun and easy to work with and I never once had ANY issues! I would highly recommend Shad Helmandollar and his team of construction pros. Shad up graded our master bathroom several years ago. (He’s an artist at beautiful tile work.) When we decided to completely upgrade our kitchen, we were happy to find his company online. He and Gabriella are friendly and professional. No matter what the obstacle, they had suggestions to smooth out the process. All the details of the renovation were clearly measured and planned out in advance, and we knew what to expect during entire job. He was respectful of our dream plans and helped make them happen. Even with a limited kitchen footprint, he suggested ways to move appliances, and arrange the new cabinets to make the best use of our space. All of our cabinets were replaced, top and bottom. The island changed from two levels to one beautiful white quartz slab. He even managed to work in our new double farmhouse sink and trash/recycle drawer; measuring and remeasuring until he got it just right! The pantry was gutted and new shelving added, along with an electrical outlet. He and his 2 sons tiled the back splash areas, inserting a beautiful little niche behind the stove. It is now the highlight of the entire room! Before he left each day, everything was cleaned and stored away so we could continue to live in the open space that encompassed the kitchen/breakfast nook/family room. Gabriella kept us apprised of the scheduling and finances all along the way. Thank you Helmandollar family! We love our new kitchen, and all our friends do to!

This was our first home improvement project. To us it was daunting. Before even meeting with us for the consultation, Shad and Gabrielle put us at ease. They educated us in all the aspects of the remodel. Gabrielle was patient and kind, reassuring us before the project began and well after the project has been complete. Shad and Gabrielle were upfront about all the details. They offered practical ideas. They made sure we thought of all the details through the process beginning, during and well after the project was complete.
Shad, Gabrielle and their sons have a beautiful work ethic. They are hard meticulous workers. Our project was complete well within the given time frame. They kept all working areas clean and orderly. Every night everything was cleaned up and left as before. We were so impressed with Shad and Gabrielle's two boys. They are hard workers already talented in their field. Sometimes I could hear Shad teaching them as they worked!
The remodel is complete. It is absolutely gorgeous. We still can't believe this beautiful room is in our house. We are so very impressed with HRC remodeling. We will definitely use them for any other project that comes our way. We have already highly recommended Shad and Gabrielle to friends needing jobs done from small projects to large ones.
We are thankful to Shad and his entire family for their time with us and on our bathroom remodel.

We recently had Shad and Gabrielle from Helmandollars Contractor complete a master bathroom remodel that also included work in the master bedroom and hallway. Gabrielle and Shad came to our home to discuss the project we had in mind, they did not try to change anything that we wanted just to fit the norm but made suggestions that improved the finished look. They gave us a firm start date and Shad and his sons were there every day working to complete it. I must include here that Shad and Gabrielle promised they only worked on one project at a time and lived up to that promise. The daily progress was amazing to see the final fit and finish of everything was excellent. Also, there were no hidden costs, we discussed everything with Shad and Gabrielle for any out of scope work. The work was completed 3 days ahead of schedule and we could not be happier.
We will hire Shad and Gabrielle for any projects that we have in the future. We give them a 5 star rating.

Five Star Rating

I know there is no mechanism for rating on this HRC website, but if there were this would be a slam dunk 5 star.

Let me start by saying that Shad had done a bathroom remodel for us about a year ago. What we learned from that experience is we had found a great honest, hard working and reliable contractor. As you know picking the right contractor is really the most important decision you can make in the entire process. Not only was the craftsmanship excellent, the job was done on time and actually came in under budget. The other thing we noticed was the clean up each and everyday to minimize the “impact” on the rest of the house. That may be a small factor to some, but for us it spoke volumes to doing a thorough job.

So, when it came time to do a fairly substantial remodel of our house which included tearing out walls, reconfiguring the kitchen, dining area, living room, bathroom, adding a en-suite and basically changing - updating the entire look of the house, there was no doubt in our minds that HRC (Shad) was the one we wanted to do the work.

This was a ten week project hat required extensive planning, permits and organization of all the others involved with the project. Once again the project came in on time and on budget. We absolutely could not be happier with end result. It was like moving back into a customized updated home that had that special craftsmanship look.

I should also mention his family was involved with parts of the work and there could not be a more pleasant group of people. Gabrielle (Shad’s wife) was there to assist with several design decisions. Her unbiased (although she did side with my wife more often) point of view was extremely valuable as all the little details that turn a job from good to great were there.

I would recommend HRC to anyone. Period.

We recently hired HRC for some remodel work on our home that included the removal of a full wall, pony walls, framing in our office, hanging barn doors, overhead fans and laying wood grain tile throughout the entirety of our home. We truly could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. HRC demonstrated tremendous professionalism from the initial quote until the final day of work.

We were impressed not just with the quality of work but also the cleanliness of the job site each day (extremely important with a 2 year old daughter and pregnant wife in the home) and spot-on punctuality. Certainly any remodel entails some stress and upheaval in the home but the experience was as easy as could realistically be hoped for. Most of all, we are thrilled with our home renovations!

We have already hired HRC for some additional work (tile shower floor) and they will undoubtedly be our first and only call for future improvements at our house.

We wanted to put into writing how much we appreciate your professionalism and your expertise.
There were quite a few surprises on our relatively large remodeling and construction project and we were surprised and pleased at how well you were able to handle the adversity, think outside the box and fix the challenge at minimal cost while still making everything functional and beautiful as well.
At the end of the job, we also appreciated very much your attention to construction job site post cleanup and delivery of all of the receipts and final billing. One of us is a bit focused on cleanliness and things being clean right down to a molecular level and you were able to get the job site spic and span enough so that we could feel comfortable moving in. On the billing, the records confirmed our documentation during the entire project and was a nicely put together and organized document we can use for the future for tax preparation to determine cost basis if we end up selling this house at a profit.
As you know, we were also rushed and under a bit of a time constraint so that we could actually get moved in and you were able to allow us to move in despite multiple scheduling challenges which we very much appreciated!
We would feel comfortable recommending your company: outcomes were as or better than expected, timeline was within our maximum buffer and budget overruns were as expected and within our maximum limit as discussed during the bid phase and prior to signing the contract.

Shad did such an excellent job making my old house beautiful again! He turned my tired old entertainment wall into a beautiful rock accent wall complete with TV mount.
He replaced replaced 8 ceiling fans, installed 6 new lighting fixtures, change out the old ‘can’ lighting in the kitchen to recessed. He painted my whole entire house inside, installed new baseboards throughout, updated the exiting recessed lights and smoke detectors, mounted 3 TVs on the wall, and installed all brand new bathroom accessory fixtures. And, he re-textured my plant shelves so I can actually clean them!
Thank you so much for all your weeks of hard work, I love my new house!

Shad painted our home, installed garage-door openers, hung a chandelier, multiple fans, and a fragile etched-glass piece! He changed our door handles and locks and mounted our TV on the wall! He did a beautiful job with the help of his darling, capable and hard-working daughter!

As he was leaving from completion of these projects we asked him if he built bookcases! He said that he did! We gave him our idea of what we wanted -- built in, wall-to-wall, decorative top -- and from there he had many choices for us! He gave us estimates using a variety of options, ie. types of wood, configurations of shelves, stain colors, etc. We made our decisions and agreed to a reasonable price! We currently live in Nevada and would not be back to Arizona for a couple of months but we felt very comfortable in giving him a key to our home! He completed the work in the time frame we needed, and we couldn't be more delighted with the finished bookcase! It is exactly what we had envisioned and hoped for!

His workmanship is superior, his manner is pleasant and engaging, his family is beautiful and supportive, his pricing is fair, his work ethic is outstanding, and we are amazed at his wide range of experience and capability! When he leaves everything is clean and neat! He asked us to look for things he might have missed in his painting -- when we found a couple of very minor misses he was quick to come back and take care of them!

We could not recommend him any more highly and look forward to having him help us in the future!

Mr. Helmandollar was recommended to us by a neighbor. We were seeking bids for minor remodeling work being considered for our new house. The bid submitted by Mr. Helmandollar was reasonable but we elected not to move forward on that project for the time being. None the less Mr. Helmandollar was agreeable to perform several small jobs for us. These jobs were completed on separate occasions several months apart and included electrical outlet, light fixture and fan installation.

Mr. Helmandollar was always responsive to phone calls and specific in his communication. He was on time for each visit and is an efficient worker. His work ethic is also evident in the way he cleans up afterwards. We have not had to contact him about warranty work but anticipate that he would be similarly responsive. His pricing was reasonable.

We are pleased with the work he has done for us. I would pass his contact information to friends and family if they needed some handyman work done.

Shad Helmandollar has worked on my house remodel projects since July 2008. Shad has worked as a handyman on over 10 of my houses. On these projects, he has worked in areas of all construction trades.

I have hired him to do all of the following things: drywall including patching, taping and texture; electrical including replacing switches and outlets to changing light fixtures; plumbing from changing water shutoffs, toilets, sinks, and hose bibs; painting interior and exterior of rooms and houses; demolition work and small framing jobs; trim work from finish trim such as cabinet installs interior and exterior door installation and trim work.

Shad Helmandollar as done several projects for me. Included among those are removal of popcorn ceiling, installation of ceiling fans, and a renovation of my patio cover.

His work has always been of superior quality in all regards. The workmanship is outstanding but just as important to me is his timeliness (he shows up when he says he will) and the cleanliness of his work (he cleans as he goes and never leaves a mess).

I am not familiar with the pricing structure in the Valley but I have never felt that he has overcharged me for what he has done. The quality of his work merits what I have paid him in every instance.
